Branded merchandise is an essential part of any marketing strategy. More than just promotional products and freebies, a carefully curated box of swag is a huge part of your brand awareness campaign and contains far more than meets the eye.
In fact, research from the BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association ) found that 80% of people are more likely to recommend a brand off the back of branded merch. Considered swag can help you promote new products, launch a rebrand, engage employees, and thank clients. But, there are many things to consider when you’re creating a branded box of tricks. Our very own Account Manager, Gogi, is sharing her five dos for building the ultimate Swag Pack.
Budgets aligned
Know your budget before getting to the ‘what to put in the box’ stage. Your costs should be factored into your overall marketing budget, so make sure you confirm this with the person in charge of sign off. It can be disappointing to curate your Swag Pack (theme and all) and find your budget doesn’t match. So please ensure you have sign off and complete transparency with those holding the purse strings!
Exact specifications
And, once your budget is signed off, share it with us! That way, we won’t over or under spec. Of course, you’ll want to squeeze every last bit from your box of branded tricks, and that’s what we’re here to guarantee. It’s our job to ensure that you maximise your Swag Pack’s potential. We’re firm believers in quality over quantity and find that less is often more in terms of the kinds of products you’re gifting. So do share your budget with us; we don’t ask to be nosy!
Package deal
There are multiple ways to package up your chosen gifts. Alongside the branded swag, packaging materials also need to be factored in, and there are various ways to box up your swag; from boxes with logos and stickers to sleeves, fully printed boxes and even ribbon and magnetic close functions; which all differ in price. So do chat through the different packaging options with us.
Destination unknown
Where you send your Swag Pack is also a key consideration. Unfortunately, we cannot send some items to particular destinations. However, we like to manage expectations from the get-go. So please do talk us through your delivery list — we want to make sure everyone you choose benefits from your swag!
Up-to-date
Here at Swag Pack, we can send edible treats, caffeinated delights, and delicious samples direct to your clients, customers, and employees. But it’s important to remember the best dates on perishable items. You don’t want to spend your budget on more items than you need, especially if you’re planning for us to store your Swag Packs and manage your stock levels and call-offs. So please consider your best by dates and perishables!
Top priority
We want to know what’s important to you. So part of our process is to understand your top priorities when creating a Swag Pack. For many, it’s cost, as budgets are tight and carefully selecting cheaper items and packaging is key to keeping those costs down. For others, it’s creating a theme that runs the whole way through their Swag Pack and overall marketing campaign, helping to raise awareness and push their brand even further. And for some, it’s being as sustainable as possible, opting for eco-friendly products, recyclable materials, and being conscious about the environment. So please do tell us what’s important to you!
