Rosie White, our Client Services Executive, thrives on chaos and loves nothing more than a good challenge. When her previous company went under, it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened – she landed with us and brought her eagle-eyed attention to detail and “get it done yesterday” attitude. Oh, and she’s currently cramming for her PRINCE2 qualification because she’s a proper overachiever like that.
What does an average day look like for you?
My day starts with emails – because doesn’t everyone’s? Then, I’m straight into the thick of it, guiding orders from start to finish. I send confirmations, chase artwork approvals, proof designs, and do what I do best: track shipments across the globe like some sort of logistics detective.
And yes, I’ll admit it – I’m so impatient that I sometimes track our parcels on flight radar. Don’t judge me until you’ve spent two weeks wondering if your Barbie necklaces are stuck somewhere over the Atlantic!
Every morning kicks off with our production meeting, and Mondays always turn into weekend catch-ups. Plus, I’m constantly chatting with Mae, who sits next to me – she probably knows more about my life than my mum does.
How did you come to work at Swagpack?
I worked for a consumer electronics company in sales admin before joining Swagpack. When that company went under, we were all made redundant. The office is only up the road from where I was working, and one of my former colleagues was friendly with Simon; he mentioned they were hiring. It was perfect timing really.
What do you enjoy most about your role in Client Services?
I absolutely live for the madness when everything kicks off at once. Call me crazy, but I love the pressure – there’s something brilliant about racing against the clock to get an urgent order sorted. The pace never lets up, which means boredom is impossible. Every project brings something different, and I’m here for all of it.
When we get something really unique, like those Barbie necklaces that had me glued to flight radar for days – it’s even better. It was stressful watching the tracking number refuse to budge, but the buzz when everything comes together is worth it.
What’s been your most favourite project to work on?
The Barbie necklaces, hands down. Working on something with that level of brand recognition was incredible, and seeing the final photos from the event – knowing I’d held the pieces in my hands – was such a rush. Plus, it was unique. Not many people can say they’ve worked on official Barbie merchandise, can they?
But I’ve got a soft spot for this Valentine’s project too. We created these gorgeous boxes with poems incorporating chocolate bars into the verses. So you’d have “Come have a picnic with us” alongside an actual Picnic bar. It was created in pretty purples and pinks – it was like edible poetry. Absolutely brilliant.
Can you share a challenging problem you’ve had to overcome in your role?
There have been so many heart-stopping moments! The worst is when something doesn’t arrive on time, and you’re scrambling for solutions – which, let’s be honest, happens more often than any of us would like.
I remember one particularly mental day when we had stock arriving that needed packing and shipping the same day to reach a hotel for an event. I ended up downstairs with the warehouse team, packing like our lives depended on it, then we had to arrange a same-day courier to the hotel.
You’re at the mercy of massive courier companies, and with the big players like DHL, you can’t exactly tap the driver on the shoulder and say, “This one’s pretty urgent, mate.” I’ve literally run up the road chasing UPS vans when they’ve delivered to the wrong address. It’s like a very unglamorous version of parkour.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I’m into my fitness at the moment – running twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays, going to the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then boot camp on Saturdays. So technically, I get two whole days to be a couch potato, which I usually spend watching Housewives.
